Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 35-hour week (Flexitime)
Reporting To: Tax Director
Salary Range: £68,000 to £78,000

About the Team
You’ll be joining our Tax Transaction team, a group of 7 within that team, in a department of 106.
The team works closely with 4 Partners and 2 Directors supporting them with bespoke tax advisory projects across a range of different tax areas including corporation tax, private client tax and other taxes which may be incidental to a piece of advice. The team mainly advises large owner-managed business, high net worth individuals and high growth businesses.

How You’ll Make a Difference
Provide support to the Tax Transactions Senior Leaders on bespoke tax consultancy matters including;
· Pre and post-deal Structuring: Develop and implement tax-efficient structures for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
· Demergers: Develop and implement tax-efficient methods for the demerger of assets or companies from single entities or groups of companies.
· Group reorganisations: Work with clients to understand their requirements to suggest the best possible group structure to enable the ringfencing of risk within a group, including the insertion of a holding company and the transfer of trades and/or assets to other group companies.
· Family wealth structuring: Work with clients and their financial advisor to suggest methods of structuring family wealth, including the use of Family Investment Companies and Trusts (with the support of our IHT, Trusts and Estates Team).
· Taxation Due Diligence: Supporting the team to undertake tax due diligence services for clients, working on a range of Target entities operating in different sectors.
· Other bespoke advice: Work with colleagues to research and conclude on technical tax matters which are outside of the normal areas on which advice is provided. Provide well-reasoned tax advice, with relevant case-law considered. Providing tax advice on the proposed steps and structuring to maximise financial benefits and Inheritance Tax exposure.
You’ll Be Ideal for This Role If You Have:
· CTA Qualification: Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualified, with broad experience advising on both corporate and private client tax matters.
· Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a mixed tax advisory role, including compliance review experience, with a proven track record in providing bespoke written advice to clients in a range of technical areas.
· Project Management: Exceptional workload and project management skills, with experience in managing multiple stakeholders.
· Process Improvement: Ability to identify and implement improvements in the Internal Risk and Liability (IRL) process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy during due diligence.
· Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, accompanied with technical research skills, particularly as they relate to mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring (including demergers).
· Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess tax risks and opportunities.
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex tax issues to clients and internal teams, including general technical updates.
· Client Focus: A client-centric approach with the ability to understand client needs and deliver tailored tax advice.
· Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in preparing and finalising technical reports.
· Adaptability: Flexibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing client needs and priorities.
· Proactive: A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
