How you’ll make a difference
As a Management Accountant based in BKL’s North London office with our internal finance team, you’ll play a key role in the business operations of our group of companies, as we continue our growth plans across our range of key sectors and service lines.
By combining your technical expertise, industry experience and personal touch, your varied work will help a range of colleagues through reporting and direct support, giving essential insights into our commercial performance.
You’ll have opportunities to build relationships across the business, enhance our processes and develop your career towards a management-level role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing monthly management accounts with key financial insights and relevant KPIs
- Supporting the business operations with variance analysis of budgets and forecasts, using underlying operating system data
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet control accounts such as prepayments and accruals, and processing monthly and ad hoc journals
- Ensuring that transactions and processes comply with the internal controls, and mitigating financial risk by suggesting improvements
- Controllership of the business’s core practice management system data and controls
- Support and implement automation tools to make our financial reporting more efficient and accurate
- Support the production of our year-end statutory accounts and audit process
You’ll be ideal for this role if you:

- Have experience in a professional services environment
- Thrive on a variety of work, from core management accounting tasks to more complex projects
- Are comfortable manipulating large volumes of data via pivot tables and other tools, while also identifying and implementing automated data processing solutions
- Can demonstrate a commercial and proactive mindset
- Enjoy building and maintaining trusted relationships, in person and remotely, from junior colleagues to senior leaders
- Are confident in proposing changes and putting them into action, particularly changes that aid analysis of financial performance
- Are keen to progress your career towards financial controller and management responsibilities
We know you have a lot to offer, which is why we want to give you the freedom to thrive no matter who you are or what your background is. You will have every opportunity to use your creativity in how you approach your work and the support to innovate.
Inclusion, diversity, and talent development are a fundamental aspect of who we are, and we welcome applications from candidates who share and champion these values. You will play an integral part in helping to make BKL a great place to work with a sense of belonging for everyone.
High challenge, high support
If you enjoy problem-solving and a fast-changing environment, you will thrive in this role.
